NFL Playoffs - Steelers VS Ravens 1/15/2011

Sorry. If you were looking for a post about how the game was going or an in-depth commentary of either team, you have been mislead. The title is pretty normal of a sports blog, but alas, THIS is a beauty blog.

..I love to watch football and I like to have fun getting ready for the games. Why not do something that goes with the theme? My last football related eye look was for my home team the MN Vikings. I thought it would be fun to do a playoff theme. Plus, it was also requested that I do a Pittsburgh Steeler eye as well, so the two just came together. Funny how things work out....enjoy and good luck to both teams!

Next up, I already have 1 team done, we'll see if it's going to be New York Jets or New England Patriots in the AFC Championships. Who do you want to win?

Inspiration Pic: Make Up For Ever

Goes with the Rock For Ever products. You can get the look, by going to the MUFE website. They are working hard on updating it and looks alot better than before. Although, sometimes I have a hard time navigating through it. A lot of missed connections I think. Also includes a "making of" video of the photoshoot. It's pretty neat.

OMG *gasp*

Someone pinch me. Am I dreaming? Urban Decay just put up a teaser pic of this beautiful, awesome set of 24/7 eyeliners...FULL SIZE! More details to come.

Victoria Secret Sets

Never had the chance of using VS before but these looked really pretty. Just happened to see the eye shadow set and looked it up. The prices are pretty reasonable too. I'm really interested in the Hypergloss Eye Shimmer. They have some cute gift sets on the VS website too. You should check those out as well.

Thanksgiving Look: Tutorial

MMMmmm Turkey Day. To create a Thanksgiving look, I thought about the warm colors of.....the turkey. Yes, turkey. Brown, black and gold. Feathers that is. Complete the look with a nice wing to go along with a turkey wing. Eh, let's face it. Coming up with a "turkey" look can go wrong in so many different ways, so let's go simple and focus on the warm colors of the holiday. Goes well with the stuffing, I might add :)

Products Used:
  1. Urban Decay Primer Potion - Original
  2. Too Faced "Natural Eye" Palette - Fashion Trio - Nude Beach, Honey Pot, Cocoa Puff
  3. Bare Minerals Eye Liner - Black Leather - loose powder
  4. Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes Eye Liner - 0L black
  5. Sephora Mascara Lash Extender - Black
Tools Used: Eye:
  1. Eye Shadow Brush - Medium
  2. Eye Shadow Brush - Small
  3. Crease Brush
  4. Smudge Brush
  5. Angle Eye Liner Brush
How to:
  1. Apply eye primer all over lid, from lash line to eyebrow.
  2. Using medium eye shadow brush, apply color "Nude Beach" under brow to the crease.
  3. Using small eye shadow brush, apply color "Honey Pot"  to inner corner of eye to center of eye lid.
  4. Using small eye shadow brush, apply color "Cocoa Puff" to outer corner of eye meeting up with "Honey Pot" and blend up into crease.
  5. Blend crease with crease brush. Reapply colors as needed to create as much depth as you desire.
  6. Wet angle eye liner brush and apply "Black Leather" to top lash line. Extend line to outer corner and wing line. Thicken line as you go out. Takes some practice to do, or you can use a liquid liner or pencil.
  7. Apply "0L" to lower lash line and water line. Smudge with smudge brush.
  8. Apply "Cocoa Puff" to outer 1/3 lower lash line and apply "Honey Pot" to inner corner, meeting the two colors together. Can use smudge brush or small eye shadow brush.
  9. Finish look with 2 coats of mascara on top lashes and one on bottom.

Urban Decay Sets

Urban Decay is a brand that is known for it's crazy awesome eye shadow colors. Not to mention their purple packaging. They also had some innovative "Book of Shadows" come out, like the "Alice in Wonderland" palette and their recent "UD <3 NY" palette. They have such great palettes, it would take me forever to name them all but I must mention a couple that are top sellers that would also make great gifts:

Deluxe Shadow Box
Eyeshadow Ammo Shadow Box
Naked Palette
Show Pony Shadow Box
Vegan Palette
The Black Palette Sephora Exclusive
(can also find the others at Sephora and Ulta as well)

For the Holidays, Urban Decay does what they do best. Make exclusive palettes of their top selling products. And it is a great buy because they last throughout most of the year.
